Lawn care in Perdido Beach: what to know
SWDA pickup inside town limits
SWDA's curbside service doesn't run inside city limits in Baldwin County, with three exceptions: Magnolia Springs, Lillian and Perdido Beach. Baldwin County's Solid Waste Disposal Authority (SWDA) runs curbside bulky and yard waste pickup: one free pickup a month, up to 4 cubic yards of yard waste, at the edge of the right of way, 4 feet from the mailbox, not under power lines and not behind a fence. Call (251) 972-6878 to schedule.
Creek and shoreline yards
Yards that run down toward the creeks and the bay stay soft after rain. We don't run the mower over soaked ground because it ruts the lawn; if your yard is too wet on the day, we text you and reschedule.
Water, mosquitoes and zoning
Perdido Beach gets its water from the Perdido Bay Water, Sewer and Fire Protection District, the same district as Lillian. For low spots that hold water after rain, the town points residents to free county larvicide briquets for standing water in ponds, ditches and swampy areas, available on request to Baldwin County residents 18 or older. The town's Beautification, Building and Grounds committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., and Baldwin County administers the town's zoning under a 2014 agreement.
