Lawn care in Foley: what to know
Foley's yard debris pickup
Foley sanitation picks up yard debris at the curb, up to 6 cubic yards a week, with extra loads at $400 each, paid in advance. Bulk goes out the same day as yard debris, in a separate pile by 6 a.m. Our hedge and cleanup debris goes on our trailer, not your pile.
Yards next to the woods
The city's Graham Creek Nature Preserve covers about 660 acres near Wolf Creek Drive in southeast Foley. If your lot backs onto woods, we string trim the lawn line where it meets them on every visit; clearing brush beyond it is a separate quote.
Foley's lot and tree rules
On vacant lots, Foley's code enforcement can order grass and weeds over 12 inches removed, and if the city has to do it, the cost is added to the property's next tax bill. Heritage trees, those 30 inches or more across at breast height, can't be cut or harmed without a city permit.
Yard waste the city won't take
Foley doesn't collect residential yard waste generated by a contractor; the code says disposal is the contractor's job. It also won't take yard waste in plastic bags. That's why we haul what we cut on our trailer. For watering, Riviera Utilities, the Foley utilities board, offers a separate service for watering the yard to save on sewer costs.
Your route day
