Gulf Shores debris pickup
The city runs a weekly debris pickup that takes yard debris, for single family homes only, not businesses, condos or hotels. Set it out the night before or by 6:15 a.m. Hedge trimmings and cleanup debris from our visits leave on our trailer.
Beach Rental District homes
South of 2nd Avenue, in the city's Beach Rental District, Republic picks up garbage twice a week, Monday and Thursday, instead of once. If your house there is a rental, a fixed weekly mow keeps the yard ready no matter who checks in.
Gulf Shores grass and tree rules
In Gulf Shores, letting grass or weeds grow over 12 inches is unlawful, and no notice is needed for it to be a violation. Seven days after a notice to cut, the city can do the work at the owner's expense. A protected tree, any tree at least 12 inches across or a live oak at 6 inches or more, needs a removal permit: $25 to apply plus a $250 permit fee.
